Week of August 25

Spelling (Kilgore) - Unit 1 See SpellingCity Pre-test Tuesday. Final test
Thursday.  Assignment due Friday.  The Assignment must have all 3 parts to be complete 1) All 28 flashcards with definitions.  2) Words written 5 times each 3) A sentence for every spelling word.


English/Writing (Kilgore) -We will review writing sentences.  Grammar packet on Capitalization and Grammar Test over prepositions will be 9/2 (Tuesday after Labor Day).

Art - (Smith) - Introducing blending. We will be completing worksheets over blending and shading. The methods practiced will be used in students projects throughout the year.


Math (Kilgore) - We will begin adding and subtracting.  We  will also do our first math bellwork which will be due 8/29

Science (Remis)- See Mrs. Remis's Edmodo page for your class.  Read Scholastic news & take notes


Reading (Kilgore) - This week we will be discussion parts of a bookreport in class (eg, plot, setting, theme, character etc).  Students should continue to do their independent reading.


Social Studies (Kilgore) - We will be doing an overview of economic ideas.


Religion (Nittler) - We will be studying Chapter 1, the Sacraments as God's gift to mankind.

PE (Seidt) -  Football Unit and Fitness Unit.


Study Skills/Self-Directed Study (Kilgore) -We will continue to organize our time, and using every minute.

Week of August 18

Spelling (Kilgore) - Learning Classroom Procedures, Discipline with a Purpose - Social Skills, Leadership, Resolving Problems.  Friday we will also begin our first spelling unit.

Art - (Smith) - Welcome back! This week students will be working on making portfolios for their projects to go in throughout the year. We will also be working on some hand outline designs, that will be made into a school wide work of art!


Math (Kilgore) - Discipline with a Purpose - Listening, Cooperation, Communication, Initiating Solutions.  Friday we will also begin Math bellwork with 25 un-interrupted minutes to work on the review assignment.

Reading (Kilgore) -   We will be doing silent reading for 20-25 minutes every day this week. beginning Tuesday.   If your student already has a book they are reading bring it.  If your student does not have a book, I will be working with students to help them find a book they like.
