GENERAL CLASS INFORMATION - Standardized testing

Spelling (Kilgore) - None.  Depending on testing schedule Spelling will resume 10/3.


English/Writing (Kilgore) -None.  Depending on testing schedule Grammar & Writing will resume 10/3.


Art - (Smith) - Reviewing color theory and making color wheel trees.

Math (Kilgore) -None.  Depending on testing schedule Math will resume 10/3.

Science (Remis)- See Mrs. Remis's Edmodo page for your class


Reading (Kilgore) -None.  Depending on testing schedule Reading will resume 10/3.  Book report due 10/17, if your student has not already completed it.


Social Studies (Kilgore)None.  Depending on testing schedule Social Studies will resume 10/3.

September 22

GENERAL CLASS INFORMATION - 

Mid-terms are being sent home Monday 9/22.  They will be due back Wednesday 9/24.  Standardized testing will be 9/29-10/3.

There will be no spelling or bellwork 9/24-10/3.  This means it will not be assigned 9/26.  Any time after testing students will have the opportunity to work on corrections and continue to read.  There will be minimum assignments from Mrs. Kilgore during this week.  Depending on the testing schedule, spelling and bellwork will be assigned again 10/3.

Spelling (Kilgore) - Unit 5 See SpellingCity Pre-test Tuesday. Final test Thursday. Assignment due Friday.


English/Writing (Kilgore) - Students are writing a descriptive paragraph.  They are to pick their favorite food and use their 5 senses to describe the food without actually naming it.  Rough draft due Tuesday.  Final copy due Friday

Music  (Barratt) - Discussing rhythm and preparing music for the Fall Concert.

Art - (Smith) - Reviewing color theory and making color wheel trees.

Math (Kilgore) - We will be finishing division on Tuesday.  Due a review sheet in class for the test on Wednesday.  Review in class Thursday.  Test over place value, addition, subtraction, multiplication and division will be on Friday. TEST FRIDAY 9/26.

Science (Remis)- See Mrs. Remis's Edmodo page for your class


Reading (Kilgore) - We will be finishing idioms and sayings and be drawing a picture to demonstrate the learning at some time during this week.  Book report due 10/17, if your student has not already completed it.


Social Studies (Kilgore) - We will continue to work on our Explorer's information in class.


Religion (Nittler) - We will finish Chapter 3 and go on to Chapter 4, a study of sacramentals and how they bring us closer to God.


PE (Seidt) -Soccer Unit/Fitness  Soccer handout on Monday for review. Test will be Thursday.


Study Skills/Self-Directed Study (Kilgore) - Students will need to begin to narrow their 40 brainstorms to 5 realistic possibilities.

English/Writing (Kilgore) - We are continuing to write personal narrative paragraphs.  Rough draft due Tuesday.  Final draft due Friday.

Reading (Kilgore) - Idioms, phrases and sayings


Social Studies (Kilgore) - Open note quiz over Native Americans Tuesday.  Begin in class project on Explorers, due date to be determined later.


Religion (Nittler) - We will cover Chapter 3, which deals with how God calls us to use our gifts and talents for the good of others.


PE (Seidt) -Soccer Unit/ Fitness


Study Skills/Self-Directed Study (Kilgore) - 20 brainstorms due Friday 9/19.

Spelling (Kilgore) - Unit 3 See SpellingCity Pre-test Tuesday. Final test Thursday. Assignment due Friday.


English/Writing (Kilgore) - We will discuss and draft a 4-5 sentence paragraph personal narrative about something we did this summer, on Monday.  Peer review in class Tuesday.  Final copy of this paragraph will be due Friday.


Art - (Smith) - Using blending techniques that we covered last week to create optical illusions.

Math (Kilgore) -Finishing multiplication and beginning division.

Science (Remis)- See Mrs. Remis's Edmodo page for your class


Reading (Kilgore) 1st Reading Reflection letter will be due Tuesday.  We will be in class discussion common phrases and saying and discuss figurative and literal meanings.

Social Studies (Kilgore) - We are doing KWL sheets together in class, a tentative due date may be Friday this week or Monday next week.


Religion (Nittler) - Continue with Chapter 2 on the Sacraments.  Be able to list the seven Sacraments and spell them correctly.  Study at home for a quiz on Thursday.


PE (Seidt) -Football assignment due on Tues., test on Wed./fitness testing continues.


Study Skills/Self-Directed Study (Kilgore) -Brainstorming ideas for the project.

Spelling (Kilgore) - Unit 2  See SpellingCity Pre-test Tuesday. Final test Thursday. Assignment due Friday.


English/Writing (Kilgore) -Grammar due Friday.  We will continue working on sentence writing and begin 5 minute journal writing in class.


Art - (Smith) - Working on blending worksheets. Leading us into our next project this week-using blending techniques to create optical illusions.

Math (Kilgore) - Multiplication

Science (Remis)- See Mrs. Remis's Edmodo page for your class

Reading (Kilgore) - We will have class discussions on genre and begin working on common phrases and sayings.

Social Studies (Kilgore) -  We will continue with class discussions on life in the Eastern Hemisphere and begin group work on Explorers.


Religion (Nittler) - The class will be finishing up Chapter 1 on Creation and working on Chapter 2 on the Sacraments.  Students need to learn the seven sacraments and be able to spell them correctly.  They should be studying this at home.

PE (Seidt) -Football/Fitness Unit. Students will receive a handout over football and a unit assignment on Wednesday, Sept. 3.


Study Skills/Self-Directed Study (Kilgore) - Students will  be asked to spend 10 minutes brainstorming things they might do, but have not yet done.
